While it’s probably not worth it for most posts on your Facebook page, you may want to consider boosting them for the key things that you really want people to see.
This costs as little or as much as you want it to, depending on how much of an impact you want the boost function to have.
Boosting a post may help you get more people to react, share and comment on it.
You may also reach new people who are likely to be interested in your page, but don't currently follow you.
There are three ways to boost Facebook posts:
Top tip: be wary of wasting your boost by aiming it at former students of the uni as well as current ones.
It is worth letting your post get engagement organically (i.e. without a boost) for a few hours before boosting it, in order to maximise impact.
It’s also a good idea to use the ‘Insights’ function to see how well your boosted post is performing in terms of number of people reached, etc. This will help you to decide if it’s worth boosting posts in future.
