Relay + Communications

Would you like to do Relay+ in the area of Communications? You will have an opportunity to gain experience in a busy Development and Communications team, volunteering for a Christian charity in a welcoming office environment.

You’ll need to have a pro-active approach to tasks and be willing to try your hand at different responsibilities. There’s a broad range of work on offer including how to:

• Gather news and stories for use across the team
• Commission content for projects
• Write for different mediums: print publications as well as digital (emails and social media)
• Write for different audiences, within a set style guide and as part of a specific tone of voice
• Design for a range of mediums
• Understand financial appeals and plan campaigns and appear

You can expect to receive thorough feedback on the work that you produce. Including having regular supervisions throughout the year for your professional development as well as the opportunity to shadow different members of the team. To begin with, you’ll be set specific tasks but as the year progresses, you’ll have the chance to plan and manage your own workload too.
