CU Staff Worker in our Central region.
Roxy is originally from South Africa but considers North East England to be home. After studying Biomedical Sciences at Durham University, she decided to do Relay (UCCF’s graduate training programme) and then served with IFES in Austria.
Roxy gradually learnt to trust Jesus while growing up in a home with Christian parents. Her trust in Jesus grew much deeper during her teenage years as she understood more deeply what it meant to have a loving Father.
The challenges of living out her faith were very evident whilst at university. However, these challenges only encouraged a better understanding of grace and human weakness, and a stronger trust in Jesus. Through serving in the Christian Union and being mentored at church, Roxy saw the benefit of taking a year to do Relay. Through the Relay programme, she found a particular passion for reaching internationals, leading her to work with international student groups abroad.
Roxy particularly enjoys meeting new people and understanding how God speaks to them, and into their culture and their studies. She longs to see the thousands of students who come to UK universities, from both the near and far, to respond to the Gospel and grow in their faith during these incredibly exciting years.
When she is not with students, you’ll find Roxy rowing or running, exploring somewhere new in nature, cooking dinner for friends, or doing something creative.
Please give now to support Roxy’s vital work with Christian Unions. We can’t do this without you.
