CU Staff Worker in our North East region.
A Geordie in all but accent, Laura was born and bred in Newcastle. She became a Christian at 18 whilst attending the youth group at her parents’ church, where a series in Hosea revealed to her God’s mind-blowing, unconditional love for his sinful and imperfect children.
Laura then made the scary journey down south to Manchester where she studied Optometry (eyes) at the University of Manchester. These years were extremely formative in her faith as, with the help of her church and Christian Union, she learnt what it meant to live for Jesus. The Christian Union helped her to see how sharing her faith with her friends was a huge part of that. It also helped her to feel better equipped in telling her friends from different backgrounds about the Lord, and the joy that knowing him brings.
After graduating Laura moved back up to the true north and worked as an Optometrist (again, eyes) and had the joy of helping out with student ministry at her church which gave her a taste of just how fun and rewarding students are to work with. Time spent studying at university is so unique as people make their own decisions about who they want to be as a person, and what they are going to put their hope in. Laura hopes that in her role as Staff worker in Newcastle, God will use her to show students why he is the only one who can give them true and lasting hope.
Laura likes eyes and crisps.
