Relay Worker in our Wales region.
Benjamin is doing Relay in Cardiff, supporting the Christian Union in Cardiff University.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hello my name is Ben and I am going to be a Relay Worker in Cardiff this academic year. I have spent the past three years in Cardiff studying geology as well as getting involved in all aspects of university life - including the Christian Union.
University for me as been much more than just my degree it has given me a real opportunity to step-out properly exercise what it means to be a Christian in the world, in a new city with new people (who would end up being some of the most amazing friends I have made). I have thoroughly loved being part of the CU helping and leading events and seeing people engaging with faith and becoming Christians off the back on those meetings. But my favourite part of my university experience has been bring Jesus into spaces where he isn't, amongst friends and coursemates; fielding every question about Christianity you can imagine.
This year as part of Relay I will be able to continue doing this and seeing God move on campus as I continue to support the work of the CU by: leading Bible studies, one-to-one meetings with students and helping/speaking at events. I am also really looking forward to engaging with the theology teaching and being involved with the Science Network - hopefully bringing more conversation that I am passionate about to students in Cardiff!
