Relay Worker in our South East region.
Bella is doing Relay in Southampton, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Southampton.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Bella says...
Hi, I'm Bella, having studied Geography at Southampton for 3 years it's a joy to be able to serve the campus as Relay Worker for Southampton University CU this year.
The Christian Union has been a source of encouragement, spurring me on to share Jesus with others through my life, friendships and conversations within my degree and beyond. The Lord has shown me the power He has to transform lives through His Spirit. Seeing people living joyfully for Jesus - worshipping, praying and spending time in His word together has demonstrated why students need the opportunity to witness the good news of Jesus through CU. I look forward to being part of this mission and supporting the committee prayerfully and practically throughout the year.
The year ahead is not a solo endeavour. It’s a time to grow in reliance on God's abundant provision and grace, both spiritually and materially. Relay is an opportunity to involve others in supporting me through prayer and financial support. Prayer is a vital part of supporting Bella’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Bella:
- That God would bring spiritual growth through this year of ministry, nurturing the fruits of the Spirit in my life, that they may pour out into those I know and meet.
- For the students of Southampton University to be filled with the Spirit, that they may be responsive to God's word and the work of the Gospel that is done through the CU.
- For continued boldness, zeal and unity within CU mission, whilst trusting that God is sovereign over all that takes place, even the parts we see as obstacles!
