Whether they’re moving to a new country or simply a new city, many students find the move to university is a significant one. While many are excited, this big move can make some feel insecure.
This includes Christian students. It is a great encouragement to find friendly older students in the CU in their new cities. These older students can help them navigate the new questions that starting university prompts, find a church in their new city, and begin to live and speak for Jesus there.
There are also genuine seekers arriving as new students. If the CU can grow friendships with them that outlast freshers’ week, and demonstrate that the CU is a safe place where they will find a welcome and ask their questions, some will eventually find faith in Jesus for themselves.
Most CUs hope to invite new students – international and British, seeking and Christian – into CU Impact Groups, where they’ll grow in friendship and explore the gospel together.
Pray that God leads CU students’ steps as they connect and befriend new students. Pray that, as a result, Christian freshers are moved to live and speak faithfully and attractively among their friends – and that many seekers eventually come to find life in Jesus.
