Graduation is an exciting, but also scary, time for a lot of students. Many will have a job to go to, others will have little idea what comes next for them. There are so many things facing graduating students right now so please join us in praying for them in this exciting, but often challenging, time.
Whether they have a brilliant graduate scheme lined up, are applying for jobs, or still don’t know what on earth they’ll be doing, pray that graduates would trust God. It is all too easy to rely on our own strength when facing large decisions and changes to our lives rather than relying on God. Whatever is next, pray that graduating students would trust in God’s sovereignty and power, not necessarily to give them the exact job they want, but to hold them secure in Christ. Pray that they would take comfort in that.
In the best of times, it’s hard to say goodbye to our friends, our university, and the place that we’ve lived for the last few years. This year, however, with very little in person activities, it’ll be even harder to say goodbye. Graduates are having to say goodbye to a significant chapter in their lives so please pray that, as they take off, they would be able to say goodbye well. Of course they aren’t just saying goodbye to friends, but to a network of Christian support within CU and their church. Pray that they would be able to connect with local churches wherever they land.
After spending the last few years being equipped for mission in CU, join us in praying that graduates would carry that mission into the workplace. CUs across the country have shown an incredible enthusiasm for evangelism this year. It is, however, a very different experience evangelising in the workplace. Compared to university, where they are surrounded by other Christians in CU, they may find themselves as the only Christian in their team. Pray that God would equip them, and help them to boldly share Christ with their colleagues.
Please join us in praying these things for graduating students. Faced with a huge amount of change, pray that they would trust God, take off well, and tell the gospel wherever they end up.
